Patricia Wastvedt was born in London in 1954 and grew up in south-east England. She has been a secretary, a gardener and a designer. She began writing in 1998. THE RIVER, her first novel, was long-listed for the Orange Prize.
Her second novel, THE GERMAN BOY, was published by Viking in May 2011.
