Shona MacLean was born in Inverness and grew up in the Scottish highlands where her parents were hoteliers. She has an M.A. and Ph.D. in History from the University of Aberdeen. She lives on the Black Isle with her husband and four children.
Her latest novel from the series of historical crime mysteries featuring Alexander Seaton, THE DEVIL'S RECRUIT, is available now from Quercus. Shona is currently working on her next novel THE SEEKER - the first in a new historical crime series set in Oliver Cromwell's Commonwealth.
