Founded in 1963 by the late Elaine Greene, Greene & Heaton Ltd is a medium-sized literary agency with a diverse range of clients. These include novelists, travel writers, scientists, biographers, historians and children's writers/illustrators, each of them prominent in their field.
Writers such as Michael Frayn, P.D. James and William Shawcross have been clients of the agency since its beginning, while a broad range of contemporary writers and rising literary stars have joined their ranks since - Mark Barrowcliffe, Bill Bryson, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, C.J.
